About the position

The CTE Welding Teacher position at Brazosport Independent School District is designed to provide students with hands-on learning experiences in welding and related technical skills. The role focuses on developing students' competencies to prepare them for successful careers in the manufacturing and construction industries. The teacher will create lesson plans, manage classroom behavior, and assess student learning while fostering a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the district's curriculum requirements.
• Plan and use appropriate instructional strategies and materials that reflect understanding of students' learning styles.
• Conduct assessments of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.
• Work cooperatively with other teachers to modify curricula for special education and other student needs.
• Offer accelerated instruction to students who meet state 'at risk' criteria.
• Integrate technology into subject area teaching and learning activities.
• Manage student behavior in accordance with the BISD Student Code of Conduct.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for students' development.
• Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
• Participate in professional development activities to improve instructional effectiveness.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree, associate's degree, or high school diploma/GED with equivalent wage-earning experience.
• Valid Texas career and technical education certificate with required license and endorsements.
• Demonstrated competency in the career and technical education subject area assigned.
• One year of student teaching or approved internship experience.
• Two to five years of wage-earning experience in welding.
