About the position

As the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), you will be instrumental in defining and executing the technological vision of a pioneering space company. This role involves leading the engineering and design of spacecraft technologies, building a talented engineering team, and ensuring the successful execution of technology strategies that align with the company's long-term objectives. You will also play a key role in investor relations and securing funding for the company's innovative projects.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Co-Founders to develop and drive the overall technology strategy for the company.
• Oversee the design, development, manufacturing, testing, and flight operations of spacecraft systems and technologies.
• Recruit, mentor, and lead a diverse team of engineers and technical experts.
• Guide the cradle to grave development process of spacecraft and related technologies.
• Address and resolve complex technical challenges during the development and deployment of spacecraft.
• Assist in securing funding by presenting technical aspects of the company's vision to potential investors.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven track record of leadership (5+ years) in the space industry.
• Experience in a senior technical leadership role is highly desirable.
• 10+ years of space experience with a deep understanding of spacecraft systems.
• Strong ability to envision and execute cutting-edge technological solutions.
• Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
• Experience in early-stage start-up environments is highly desired.

Nice-to-haves

• Direct hands-on experience with propulsion technologies, avionics, GNC, communication systems, and mission design.
• A proactive and adaptable mindset; ability to take calculated risks and drive innovation.
