About the position

We are seeking a CTY Online Programs Instructor-USVI Math Academy for Promising Scholars, who will mainly be responsible for teaching elementary and middle school level in a hybrid virtual math course (grades 5 - 8). The instructor will conduct synchronous work between 7-11 AM Eastern Standard Time Monday-Friday, which will include direct instruction, team meetings, and co-teaching with an in-person instructor located in the US Virgin Islands (USVI). The role also involves hosting individual and group meetings with students for reteaching, materials review, or addressing general subject matter questions. The instructor will be the main contact point for students, ensuring that every student has an outstanding learning experience with CTY. In addition to teaching, the instructor will be responsible for promptly replying to emails from students, parents/guardians, program leadership, and co-teachers. They will provide detailed feedback on assessments according to a rubric and actively check in on all assigned students to ensure their progress through the course. The instructor will also intervene with extra synchronous in-person meetings to support students as needed. Phone calls to students, parents, and schools may be required. This position is telework eligible, but it is important to note that it is not benefits eligible and is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Multiple positions are available, and the successful candidate(s) will be subject to a pre-employment background check.
