About the position

The Culinary Associate at LIVIA Health and Senior Living plays a vital role in the preparation and service of meals within a healthcare facility. This position is essential for ensuring that residents receive high-quality food service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere. The Culinary Associate works closely with the Cook and Food Services Director/Manager to maintain health standards and provide a positive dining experience for residents.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Cook in the preparation and service of meals.
• Place prepared food on plates according to established policies and procedures.
• Prepare and deliver food and trays to residents.
• Wash dishes and clean and sanitize the kitchen according to health standards.
• Follow Resident Rights' policies at all times.
• Demonstrate dependability and punctuality by coming to work as scheduled.
• Attend and complete in-service training programs.
• Ensure the safety of all residents to minimize potential for fire and accidents.
• Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance.
• Interact positively with residents, clients, and other personnel.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read, speak, and understand English.
• Dependable with experience in quantity food production methods.
• General knowledge and understanding of nutrition.
• Ability to follow time schedules for meal preparation and serving.
• Written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of food safety/sanitation requirements and procedures.

Nice-to-haves

• Specialized training in foodservice is desirable.
• Completion of an approved sanitation and safety course.
