About the position

The Culinary Dishwasher/Porter at Veeva Systems plays a vital role in supporting the kitchen crew by ensuring cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, dining, and dish areas. This full-time position is essential in a high-volume food environment, requiring quick action and collaboration to maintain safety and sanitation standards while assisting with lunch service and other kitchen operations.

Responsibilities

  • Wash, dry, and maintain dishes
  • Set up plates, napkins, silverware, glassware for lunch service
  • Follow direction and preparation lists from the Executive Chef and Sous Chef
  • Clean and maintain kitchen stations according to safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Support all staff as needed during lunch service
  • Assist in wiping down service stations and tables
  • Process all dirty dishes and refill clean plates and utensils
  • Receive deliveries and check in orders based on invoices
  • Stock, clean, and organize fridges and walk-in coolers
  • Organize and consolidate back-stock and storage rooms
  • Rotate and consolidate products based on freshness, labeling, and dating
  • Prepare drinks including infused water and tea
  • Maintain and clean dish area and self-serve stations
  • Sort and remove recycling, compost, garbage, and pallets before the end of the day
  • Help guests and answer questions as needed

Requirements

  • 2+ years experience in a formal commercial kitchen environment
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, communication skills, and patience
  • Understanding of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality with flexible schedule
  • Commitment to quality and service
  • Flexibility and ingenuity in overcoming challenges
  • Ability to work in environments with fluctuating temperatures
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
