About the position

The Kitchen Manager at AVAZZI is responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring food quality, safety, and efficiency. This role includes supervising kitchen staff, maintaining inventory levels, and supporting the Head Chef in managing the kitchen effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily kitchen operations to ensure that all food is prepared according to established recipes and presentation standards.
  • Monitor food safety practices and enforce sanitation protocols to maintain compliance with health department regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections of kitchen areas to ensure cleanliness and proper equipment maintenance.
  • Train kitchen staff on food safety practices and proper handling techniques to minimize risks.
  • Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance, feedback, and support to ensure high performance and teamwork.
  • Develop and manage weekly staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts.
  • Assist in recruiting, training, and onboarding new kitchen staff, ensuring alignment with restaurant standards and culture.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment by encouraging open communication and collaboration among team members.
  • Identify and develop high-potential staff for future leadership roles within the kitchen.
  • Manage inventory levels for food and kitchen supplies, conducting regular stock checks and placing orders as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to forecast menu needs and adjust ordering based on sales projections and seasonal changes.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of all food items to minimize waste and maintain quality.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a kitchen environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Proficient in food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Strong understanding of kitchen operations and culinary techniques.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) and kitchen management software.
