About the position

The Cultural Resource Manager will lead a multidisciplinary team focused on preserving and protecting historical and cultural heritage through effective management of cultural resource projects. This role involves ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and fostering a collaborative work environment while overseeing various archaeological, paleontological, and architectural initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of cultural resource professionals, including archaeologists, paleontologists, and architectural historians.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of cultural resource projects.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including CEQA and NEPA.
  • Develop and implement project budgets, schedules, and work plans.
  • Conduct field assessments, surveys, and excavations as needed.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, including Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) and Environmental Assessments (EA).
  • Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide training and mentorship to team members.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, History, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cultural resource management.
  • Proven experience leading and managing a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local cultural resource regulations (e.g., CEQA, NEPA).
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed.
