About the position

The Door Guard position at Curacao is a critical role focused on maintaining security and preventing theft at all designated store entrances. This position is responsible for enforcing company policies and ensuring a safe shopping environment for customers and employees alike. The Door Guard will utilize various security techniques and equipment to monitor activities at the entrances, assist customers with basic inquiries, and report any suspicious behavior to Loss Prevention management. The role requires a proactive approach to security, as the Door Guard will physically stand at designated entrances, providing customer service while also enforcing store policies. In addition to these responsibilities, the Door Guard will assist store management during opening and closing procedures, as well as during emergency situations, ensuring that all safety protocols are followed. This position is essential in creating a welcoming atmosphere while also safeguarding the store's assets.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service while verifying customer and employee supply receipts at the door.
• Enforce entrance and exit policies to maintain security.
• Report suspicious activity (internal or external) to Loss Prevention management.
• Assist store management during opening and closing procedures.
• Assist store management during emergency situations.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must have a guard card.
• Minimum 6 months of security experience.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and equipment weighing up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to walk, stand, stoop, crawl, kneel, climb, and push/pull objects.
• Knowledge of the Power of Arrest and detainment required.
• Valid government issued ID for police reports and court purposes.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Excel and Word.
• Ability to speak in public and work as part of a team.
• Dynamic and enthusiastic personality, open to learning and adapting in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in loss prevention or security beyond the minimum requirement.
• Additional language skills beyond English and Spanish.
