About the position

The Door Guard position at Curacao is a critical role focused on maintaining security and preventing theft at designated store entrances. This position requires the individual to enforce company policies, provide customer service, and report any suspicious activities to Loss Prevention management. The Door Guard will physically stand at entrances, verifying customer and employee supply receipts while ensuring a safe and secure environment for both customers and staff. The role also involves assisting store management during opening and closing procedures, as well as during emergency situations. The Door Guard must be vigilant and proactive in their duties, ensuring that all security protocols are followed and that any incidents are reported promptly. This position is essential for upholding the integrity of the store and ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service while verifying customer and employee supply receipts at the door.
• Enforce entrance and exit policies.
• Report suspicious activity (internal or external) to Loss Prevention management.
• Assist store management during opening and closing procedures.
• Assist store management during emergency situations.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must have a guard card.
• Minimum 6 months of security experience.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and equipment weighing up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to walk, stand, stoop, crawl, kneel, climb, and push/pull objects.
• Knowledge of the Power of Arrest and detainment required.
• Valid government issued ID for police reports and court purposes.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills including Excel and Word.
• Ability to speak in public.
• Teamwork oriented with a dynamic and enthusiastic attitude.
• Open to learning and accepting changes in a fast-paced environment.
