About the position

The Curriculum Developer/Instructional Designer at JSSA, Inc. is responsible for creating and supporting instructional materials for the Navy Leadership & Ethics College (NLEC) at the U.S. Naval War College. This role involves reviewing and analyzing course outcomes to align them with the Naval Leader Development Strategy (NLDS), developing training materials, and evaluating the effectiveness of instructional content. The position requires a strong background in instructional design and technology, with a focus on enhancing leadership training programs for naval personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Create and support the creation of instructional materials for the NLEC.
  • Review outcomes of the Naval Leader Development Strategy (NLDS) and current courses to identify areas for improvement.
  • Conduct analysis of the NLDS to align outcomes with NLEC course objectives.
  • Provide recommendations for changes to current and/or new material to support alignment between the NLDS and NLEC curriculum.
  • Generate curriculum change plans with identification of new or improved learning opportunities.
  • Provide complete design documentation for approved changes in support of government requirements.
  • Create learning objectives with conditions and standards.
  • Develop training materials including instructor guides and instructional media materials.
  • Evaluate developed training material for relevance and effectiveness in meeting NLEC standards.
  • Participate in focus groups and course pilots to verify content quality and relevance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's (B.A./B.S.) degree or higher in Instructional Technology, Instructional Design or Human Resources Development.
  • Six (6+) years' directly applicable experience.
