The Cleaning Specialist position at MRD Apartments in Monroe, MI, is a full-time role focused on maintaining cleanliness and orderliness within the community. The primary responsibility of the Cleaning Specialist is to ensure that all areas of the property are neat, clean, and well-maintained. This includes cleaning apartments for turnover, which is essential for preparing units for new residents. The role requires a keen attention to detail and the ability to perform various cleaning tasks such as dusting, washing, waxing, sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping. The Cleaning Specialist will also be responsible for completing service requests related to housekeeping needs for residents moving in or out, cleaning model apartments, and ensuring the general cleanliness of public areas. In addition to cleaning duties, the Cleaning Specialist will assist in maintaining the property grounds throughout the year. This includes following proper cleaning product usage expectations and maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment. The role also involves ensuring the proper use and care of all equipment necessary for housekeeping duties, including vacuums, brooms, mops, shovels, and snowblowers. The Cleaning Specialist will participate in yearly unit inspections and assist residents in a courteous and efficient manner, embodying the core values of MRD Apartments. Training will be provided to ensure that all team members are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate attention to detail when performing cleaning tasks such as dusting, washing, waxing, sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping.
  • Complete service requests that pertain to housekeeping needs for residents moving in or out, cleaning of model apartments, apartment turnover, and general cleanliness of public areas.
  • Assist in maintaining property grounds year-round.
  • Follow cleaning product and usage expectations.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Ensure proper use and care of all equipment necessary to perform Housekeeping duties including vacuums, brooms, mops, shovels, and snowblowers.
  • Help with yearly unit inspections.
  • Assist residents in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Participate in MRD Apartments training.

Requirements

  • 6 months of related training or experience.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalency.
  • Combination of education and experience is acceptable.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Able and eager to embody MRD Apartments Core Values.
