About the position

The Custodial & Maintenance Technician at Cat Pumps Corporation is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the facility. This role encompasses a variety of tasks including custodial duties, facility maintenance, and outdoor responsibilities, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for all employees and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Keeps facility in clean and orderly condition.
• Takes on numerous facility projects as incurred and reports status to supervisor.
• Performs maintenance and repairs as required, including ballasts and lights.
• Orders maintenance supplies and picks up miscellaneous supplies at local stores.
• Replaces air filters in heat pumps and maintains air filter stock.
• Inspects fire extinguishers monthly and sets up yearly inspection.
• Sets up and takes down pallet racking as needed.
• Sets up meeting rooms for special events.
• Vacuums offices, common areas, and other areas.
• Collects trash and cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, stairways, and other work areas.
• Cleans restrooms daily, replenishes towels, wipes sinks, and empties wastebaskets.
• In the warehouse, dust mops aisles, power scrubs floors, and picks up trash on floors as needed.
• Collects and transports trash to the dumpster.
• Dusts woodwork and stains scratches.
• Mows and trims lawn, handles weed control, and maintains landscape flower beds.
• In winter, blows snow, shovels snow, and spreads salt.
• Maintains and refills rodent bait stations and monitors traps.
• Inspects and replaces sticky pads and sprays approved pesticides around the building.

Requirements

• Must be organized and pay attention to cleanliness details.
• Must have some mechanical/maintenance skills.
• Must be dependable and self-sufficient.
• Minimum of 2 years of work-related experience in performing the duties of this job.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or hold permanent residency.

Nice-to-haves

• Mechanical knowledge: 1 year (Preferred)
• Janitorial or building maintenance: 1 year (Required)
