About the position

The Custodial Services Specialist at Nashville Rescue Mission is a temporary role focused on maintaining cleanliness and safety within the facilities. This position is integral to the Men's Operations team, emphasizing the importance of a sanitary environment while also embodying the mission's Christian values by sharing the love of Jesus Christ with participants and guests.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning duties including emptying trash, dusting, polishing furniture, washing windows and walls, and cleaning restroom fixtures.
• Inspect areas for cleanliness and report any mechanical failures or inappropriate conditions.
• Sweep, mop, wash, and vacuum floors, and maintain tile floors through spraying, buffing, and burnishing.
• Move furniture as necessary for cleaning purposes.
• Remove trash and recyclables from the premises.
• Replenish restroom supplies such as towels, tissues, and soap.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Moderate reading and writing skills.
• Proficient interpersonal relations and communication skills.
