About the position
The Utility Cleaning Technician at Tigard High School is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and general upkeep of the school buildings and grounds. This role ensures a safe and comfortable environment for students, staff, and the community by performing various cleaning and maintenance tasks, adhering to safety protocols, and following established schedules.
Responsibilities
- Determine and use proper PPE to reduce exposure to hazards.
- Perform all aspects of cleaning including floor care, painting, disinfecting, and general grounds work.
- Adhere to schedules assigned by Team Leader/Building Specialist.
- Monitor and clean up after building use activities, ensuring areas are secured after events.
- Maintain a clean and neat personal appearance according to District guidelines.
- Ensure energy conservation practices are in use.
- Demonstrate regular and punctual attendance.
Requirements
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate initiative.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with diverse groups.
- Time management skills to ensure efficient work completion.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend Safety Data Sheets and follow instructions on chemicals and equipment.
- Hold a current Oregon or Washington driver's license and maintain acceptable driving record.
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret various instructions.
