About the position
The Custodian - Afternoon Turn position at Trumbull Career and Technical Center involves maintaining cleanliness and order in the facilities during the afternoon shift. The role is essential for ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for students and staff, requiring a combination of cleaning, maintenance, and grounds care responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, and dusting.
- Maintain the cleanliness of classrooms, restrooms, and common areas.
- Assist with floor care and maintenance, including waxing and buffing floors.
- Support grounds care activities, including snow plowing as needed.
- Ensure that all cleaning supplies and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous appropriate work experience in custodial or maintenance roles.
- Mechanical aptitude to handle basic repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Bus Driving Certificate or willingness to obtain one.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in large-scale housekeeping and facilities maintenance.
- Knowledge of floor care techniques and equipment.
- Experience with grounds care and snow removal.
