About the position

The Custodian/Customer Service Representative (CSR) position at SBM Management involves maintaining cleanliness and providing exceptional customer service in various environments. The role is essential for ensuring a pleasant and safe atmosphere for both employees and customers, while also supporting the company's commitment to teamwork and professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Perform floor care including vacuuming, mopping, and carpet spotting.
  • Conduct surface care such as dusting, sanitizing, and cleaning glass/mirrors/windows.
  • Manage waste removal by emptying trash and recycling bins and transporting waste to disposal areas.
  • Carry out light maintenance tasks like replacing light bulbs and restocking supply cabinets.
  • Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures, and stop at-risk behavior of others.
  • Follow all company protocols and procedures, taking direction from supervisors.
  • Present a professional appearance and conduct at all times.
  • Transport small equipment and tools, and maintain cleanliness in common areas.
  • Assist janitorial staff with restocking restrooms and break rooms.
  • Perform restroom cleaning, glass cleaning, and spot cleaning of furniture and carpets.

Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening test.
  • Less than high school education or up to one month of related experience or training.
  • Ability to read 2-3 syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and numbers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, managers, and customers.
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with 10's and 100's.
  • Knowledge of American measures of money, weight, size, length, and volume.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual skills are a plus but not required.
