About the position

The Custodian position at T. F. North High School involves performing custodial services to maintain cleanliness and security of the school premises, thereby facilitating a conducive learning environment. Responsibilities

• Exhibits a cheerful and customer-service oriented attitude to all staff and student personnel.
• Keeps assigned areas clean and orderly at all times.
• Follows cleaning schedules provided, being mindful of quality, efficiency, frequency, and safety.
• Notifies immediate supervisor of any facilities issues requiring attention.
• Inspects facilities to ensure safety and security by locking doors and windows after operating hours.
• Works in compliance with established safety procedures.
• Works additional areas, as required, in the absence of fellow custodians.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Physically able to perform the essential functions of the position.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Possesses a basic understanding of the chemicals, work processes, and equipment used in cleaning schedules.
• Ability to read and explain basic operating instructions.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to operate professional floor cleaning equipment and snow removal equipment.
• Detail-oriented.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working in a high school setting.
• Custodial experience preferred.
