About the position

This position is responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of designated areas within a school building, ensuring a clean and safe environment for students and staff. The role involves various cleaning tasks, including classrooms, restrooms, and common areas, and may extend to central facilities. The position requires attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Sweep and dry mop floors.
• Vacuum carpeting; remove spots and stains.
• Wash windows and walls; dust and polish furniture; scrub and wash kitchen fixtures; clean blinds.
• Dust woodwork, furniture, and other furnishings.
• Clean restrooms; replace toilet paper and soap; wash and polish bathroom fixtures.
• Pick up paper and debris in the building and on the grounds.
• Replace light bulbs as required.
• Clean and mop kitchen area.
• Fold and unfold chairs.
• Move furniture as needed.
• Wash, dry, and fold table cloths and towels.
• Transport, empty, and clean large trash containers into outdoor units.
• Maintain equipment and materials used in the work.
• Lock and unlock doors, check the security of buildings and grounds, activate the alarm system, lower flags.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma required.
• One (1) year of related custodial experience.
• Two (2) years of customer service experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
