About the position
The Custodian II position at Boyd Gaming Corporation involves maintaining cleanliness in public areas of the casino, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for guests and staff. The role requires physical stamina and attention to detail, as custodians will perform various cleaning tasks and operate cleaning equipment.
Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain public areas including hallways, lobbies, stairways, and locker rooms.
- Perform detail work such as high dusting, carpet care, and floor care.
- Ensure preventative care of cleaning equipment like shampoo machines and sweepers.
- Maintain cleanliness of assigned areas by picking up and removing trash and debris.
- Operate a stripping machine and handle heavy lifting and maneuvering of equipment.
- Remove trash and clean rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture using various cleaning tools.
- Responsible for property clean-up including bio-chemical material.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Minimum age of 18 or 21 depending on property regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum one year of cleaning experience preferred, with knowledge of carpet and floor care, chemicals, and equipment.
- Ability to stand and/or walk for the duration of the shift.
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain any necessary certifications and/or licenses as required by local gaming regulations.
