About the position
The Custodian Supervisor A position at LSU Health New Orleans involves supervising and assisting custodial staff in maintaining cleanliness and sanitary conditions in the School of Dentistry buildings. This role requires working evening shifts and includes responsibilities such as conducting inspections, managing work orders, and overseeing personnel matters. The supervisor will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with cleaning standards and maintaining inventory of supplies.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and assist with the evening cleaning of the School of Dentistry patient clinics.
- Conduct inspections of respective areas to ensure cleanliness and compliance with standards.
- Manage work orders and special set-up requests for events.
- Provide manpower during events and oversee clean-up after events.
- Handle personnel matters including hiring, processing timesheets, and conducting new employee evaluations.
- Maintain inventory of building supplies.
Requirements
- Two years of experience in custodial, housekeeping, groundskeeping, or food service work.
- Knowledge of general institutional cleaning and disinfecting procedures.
- Knowledge of clinical cleaning and disinfecting procedures.
- Knowledge of the operation and use of commercial-grade housekeeping equipment.
- Skill in performing disinfecting procedures.
- Skill in applying supervisory principles and practices.
- Ability to operate and maneuver high speed buffers, scrubbers, and other assigned floor care equipment.
- Ability to requisition, distribute, and monitor use of supplies and materials.
- Ability to supervise people and determine work priorities.
Nice-to-haves
- Valid Class E driver's license.
- Ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to understand and apply LSUHSC rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

- Starting rate of $14.03 per hour with additional $1 Longevity and $1 Shift Differential Pay for hours worked.
