About the position
Matter Brothers Furniture is seeking a dedicated and energetic Custodian to join their team in Sarasota, FL. This full-time position involves maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout the showroom and restrooms, ensuring a welcoming environment for customers and staff. The role is essential for supporting the overall operations of one of the most successful furniture showrooms in America.
Responsibilities
- Thoroughly clean and sanitize all restrooms, including scrubbing toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors.
- Dust and polish all furniture displays, shelving, and hard surfaces.
- Vacuum and sweep all flooring, including carpets and hard floors.
- Wipe down and clean all glass surfaces, including windows, display cases, and doors.
- Empty all trash cans and replace liners as needed.
- Sweep and mop all hard floor surfaces daily.
- Spot clean spills, scuffs, and marks on floors and furniture as they occur.
- Wipe down and disinfect all high touch surfaces like door handles, light switches, and countertops.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in general custodian duties.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Motivated with attention to detail.
- Ability to lift at least 25 lbs. with ability to bend, twist, and kneel.
- Ability to climb ladders as needed.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
