About the position

The Custodian is responsible for performing various custodial tasks at assigned job locations, ensuring cleanliness and maintenance of facilities. This role involves general cleaning duties such as restroom sanitation, office cleaning, and floor maintenance, utilizing various cleaning equipment and adhering to safety guidelines. The position requires flexibility in working hours, including potential night, early morning, weekend, and holiday shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning tasks as directed by Lead Custodian or Supervisor.
• Use floor machines for buffing, stripping, waxing, vacuuming, and carpet cleaning safely.
• Follow all safety guidelines and company policies during cleaning tasks.
• Empty wastebaskets and replace liners as needed.
• Dust and clean tops of office furniture, desks, and tables.
• Vacuum all carpeting and spot clean soiled areas when needed.
• Clean and sanitize toilets, basins, and urinals.
• Clean counters, mirrors, and fixtures.
• Sweep and damp mop floors with disinfectant.
• Refill restroom dispensers as needed.
• Wipe and clean all table tops and chairs.
• Wipe and clean vending machines and appliances.
• Clean sinks and damp mop tile floors.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience in custodial, janitorial, or cleaning services.
• Basic knowledge of custodial duties and janitorial responsibilities.
• Knowledge of cleaning equipment and techniques.
• Experience in cleaning and sanitizing washrooms.
• Ability to follow directions and work within guidelines.
• Satisfactory personal appearance and hygiene.
