About the position

The Custodian position at Chemeketa Community College involves performing custodial services during the night shift at the Yamhill Valley Campus in McMinnville, Oregon. The role is essential for maintaining a clean and safe environment for students and staff, adhering to established procedures while fostering an inclusive and supportive culture within the college community.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, scrub, wax, and polish floors including concrete, vinyl, tile, and wood.
• Vacuum rugs and carpets in offices and rooms.
• Clean and dust walls, chalkboards, furniture, woodwork, and other equipment.
• Pick up paper and refuse on grounds.
• Sweep walks and entrances.
• Wash, scrub, disinfect, and supply restrooms.
• Empty and clean waste containers.
• Clean windows, door glass, and drinking fountains.
• Clean and polish metal work such as door panels and hand railings.
• Replace light bulbs and maintain equipment used in the course of work.
• Move and rearrange chairs, tables, desks, and other equipment.
• Operate college-owned vehicles and equipment.
• Complete cleaning and routine maintenance of buildings and grounds as required.
• Report safety, sanitary, and fire hazards to the supervisor.
• Assist in maintaining security of buildings and college equipment.
• Clean up blood and body fluid spills as needed using prescribed procedures.

Requirements

• Ability to perform medium work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate college-owned vehicles.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in custodial services or related field.
