About the position

Citi is seeking an FX Product Manager to lead the Custody Joint Venture (JV) product initiative, which is a crucial component of our FX growth strategy. This role is integral to the team, coordinating with partners in Custody and FX from the design phase through to the implementation of products and offerings. The Product Developer is a strategic professional who stays abreast of the latest trends in the field and adapts them for application within their role and the business. Typically, this position is held by a small number of individuals within the business who provide a high level of expertise. Excellent communication skills are essential for negotiating internally, often at a senior level, and developed communication and diplomacy skills are required to guide, influence, and convince others, particularly colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. The role is accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business, necessitating a degree of responsibility over technical strategy, primarily affecting a sub-function. Additionally, the Product Manager will handle staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team or project. In this role, you will work closely with Securities Services/Custody to build out product capabilities that facilitate our Partnership Growth strategy. You will design, implement, and commercialize FX flows originating from clients, both with and without a Custody relationship with Citi. Collaborating with FX and Custody Sales teams, you will position the correct products and engineer new solutions for client FX requirements related to securities funding and hedging. Your contributions will be vital to the growth of Custody FX revenues in alignment with the overall FX growth plan. You will also ensure that governance standards of products are maintained, including adherence to risks and controls, local regulatory requirements in different markets, and other associated standards.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Securities Services/Custody to build out product capability to facilitate Partnership Growth strategy.
  • Design, implement and commercialize FX flows originating from clients with and without Custody relationship with Citi.
  • Collaborate with FX and Custody Sales teams to position the correct products and engineer new solutions for client FX requirements related to securities funding and hedging.
  • Contribute to the growth of Custody FX revenues in line with overall FX growth plan.
  • Ensure governance standards of products including risks and control adherence, local regulatory requirements in different markets and other associated standards.
  • Manage the end-to-end product development lifecycle, including developing business cases, requirements definition, product enhancements, and feature definition based on market and industry research and client needs.
  • Create a product vision aligned to business priorities and corresponding roadmap to delivery.
  • Follow market, industry, and client trends to adapt them for application to Citi's products and solutions platforms.
  • Conceptualize, plan, prioritize, coordinate design and delivery of products or features to product release, and serve as product ambassador within user community.
  • Work closely with Sales, Technology, Business Managers, and senior stakeholders to fulfill delivery objectives.
  • Manage and implement a wide variety of products and solutions to meet client needs.
  • Deliver significant direct business results and authoritative advice regarding product development that necessitates responsibility over technical strategy.
  • Partner with senior business leaders and a widely distributed global user community to define and implement solutions.
  • Create clear and specific project plans, business and technical requirements documents for product execution.
  • Interact directly with business managers, technology, and sales to understand their long-term vision, discuss industry trends, and incorporate them into the product & solutions strategy.
  • Focus on controls and governance, including performing security and access reviews, Access Approvals, controls testing, and documentation.
  • Assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in FX product management or related field.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing in a large and complex business environment.
  • Intellectual curiosity, analytical and conceptual thinking skills.

  • Thorough financial acumen and P&L management experience.
  • Excellent analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience in end-to-end FX lifecycle including pricing, trade execution, and post-trade management.
  • Strong execution capabilities to take ideas from concept to implementation with large stakeholder groups.
  • Keen insight into financial and operational risks and ability to design mitigating controls.
  • Experience working with clients in the implementation of products and services.
