About the position

The Money Movement department at U.S. Bank is seeking a Custody Operations Analyst 1 to manage and oversee Wealth, Corporate, Commercial, and Institutional Banking (WCIB) client accounts and products. This role is crucial for providing technical, industry, process, and troubleshooting support for various products or accounts to a team of operation specialists within their unit. The primary focus of this position is on day-to-day deliverables, developing solutions based on subject expertise, and occasionally representing the department at a broader level. The analyst will also contribute to strategic planning within their area of expertise, ensuring that daily processing activities are completed efficiently and effectively. In this role, the Custody Operations Analyst 1 will be accountable for delivering a high level of customer service while identifying and minimizing risks in the control environment. Responsibilities will vary based on the type and size of the account or product, and the analyst may be required to provide supervisory responsibilities. Independent judgment and decision-making skills will be essential, as the analyst will need to navigate complex situations and provide effective resolutions to customer issues. The position is based in Tempe, AZ, and offers a hybrid work schedule, requiring in-office attendance for three or more days per week while allowing flexibility for remote work on other days.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee Wealth, Corporate, Commercial, and Institutional Banking (WCIB) client accounts and products.
  • Provide technical, industry, process, and troubleshooting support for products or accounts to a team of operation specialists.
  • Focus on day-to-day deliverables and develop solutions based on subject expertise.
  • Occasionally represent the department at a broader level and contribute to strategic planning within the area of expertise.
  • Accountable for the completion of daily processing activities and delivering high levels of customer service.
  • Identify and minimize risks in the control environment and ensure process efficiency.
  • Resolve customer issues effectively and apply independent judgment and decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience, or an Associate's degree with four or more years of relevant experience.
  • Basic understanding of regulatory and accounting principles affecting Wealth Management & Investment Services business lines and clients.
  • Ability to multitask and meet established deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
  • Effective customer relations, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages including Microsoft Office applications.
