About the position

The Custody Operations Specialist at U.S. Bank is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of bill payments for trustee accounts, assisting with outgoing check processing, and managing outgoing funds. This role requires close collaboration with administrative teams to ensure compliance with trustee account requirements and involves resolving discrepancies related to fund allocation. The specialist will also handle incoming funds, validate invoices, and monitor email communications related to account activities, all while adhering to established service level agreements and department policies.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of bill payments for trustee accounts.
  • Assist with outgoing check processing and manage outgoing funds.
  • Resolve emails, invoices, and documentation related to payments.
  • Receive and deposit incoming funds to ensure proper allocation for trustee accounts.
  • Review and validate invoices and payment documentation for accuracy before processing.
  • Handle overnight checks and ensure timely delivery of documentation to the correct payer.
  • Monitor email communications related to bill payments and account activities.
  • Address discrepancies or issues related to fund allocation.
  • Coordinate, manage, and complete multiple duties and assignments concurrently within acceptable timelines.
  • Achieve established Service Level Agreements and comply with department policies.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Two or more years of relevant experience.

  • Ability to quickly learn custody operational functions, systems, and procedures.
  • Proficient computer navigation skills using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing payments and reviewing financial documents.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with integrity.
