About the position

The Custody Technician position is a part-time role within the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office, specifically designed to assist detention deputies in the booking and releasing process of inmates. The hourly wage ranges from $18.48 to $21.88, depending on experience, and includes a shift differential of $0.50. The position also offers the opportunity to participate in the Public Employees Retirement System of Idaho (PERSI), which includes a pension plan with a five-year vesting period, an employer contribution rate of 11.96%, and a lifetime payout upon retirement. Candidates for this position should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and possess good communication skills. The ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail is essential. The Sheriff's Office is looking for individuals who are truthful in their application materials and can meet the necessary qualifications, including obtaining a National Crime Information Center (NCIC) certification and the ability to carry and use pepper spray within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

Requirements
