About the position
The Custom Applicator/CDL Driver will assist in the day-to-day operations of the Agronomy location. This role involves performing custom application, CDL driving, and other functions that may include maintenance of equipment, plant, rolling stock, operation of forklifts, loaders, operation of tender trucks, filling NH3 tanks, loading customers' vehicles with product, unloading of deliveries, and other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Mix, loads, and applicates crop protection products/plant nutrition.
- Work with patrons in a courteous and professional manner.
- Assist the sales staff in ensuring orders are correct and patron needs are met.
- Perform warehouse work including driving loader, forklift, mechanics, and maintenance.
- Pick up and deliver product to customers as needed.
- Perform minor repairs and report larger equipment problems to manager or mechanic.
- Report any unsafe equipment or working conditions to management.
- Maintain a safe working area and keep walkways clean of slip or trip hazards.
- Perform housekeeping activities as needed.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
- Accept and offer feedback and suggestions openly and respectfully.
- Maintain open communication with management and coworkers.
- Identify and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment while completing maintenance and repairs.
- Follow all legal regulations and guidelines to maintain a commercial driver's license.
- Attend safety and job-related trainings as they become available.
- Represent yourself and United Cooperative professionally at all times in action and appearance - positively enriching the culture of United Cooperative.
- Promote a customer-focused environment by providing friendly, courteous, and helpful service to coworkers and producers.
- Work extended hours as requested by supervisor to ensure customer needs are met during busy seasons.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- CDL or the ability to obtain one.
- Must meet DOT and company requirements.
Nice-to-haves
- Applicator's license (preferred).
- Previous application experience (preferred).
