The Andersen Customer Experience team is seeking a Custom Product Drafter to create and modify CAD models and specifications for grille placement, customer approval, and other CAD needs for delivery partners and customers. This role is crucial in maintaining and ensuring that expected standards and best practices are followed during model creation. The Custom Product Drafter will respond to customer and delivery partner requests and inquiries, ensuring that all communications are effective and facilitate customer understanding and satisfaction with the product solutions presented. In this position, the drafter will apply CAD expertise and knowledge in the creation and delivery of product drawings for use by manufacturing, vendors, delivery partners, and end-use customers. The role involves close collaboration with Customer Experience Representatives, RTQ&E, Manufacturing, Materials Management, suppliers, and customers to define requirements and provide timely and accurate solutions. The drafter will also engage in discussions with manufacturing, vendors, delivery partners, and end-use customers to address process flow and product issues, while identifying, recommending, and implementing team improvements. Furthermore, the drafter will provide proactive support of the team's CAD support tools and participate in the development and ongoing maintenance of the team's CAD drafting standards, documentation processes, and document storage methods.

Responsibilities

  • Create and modify CAD models and specifications for grille placement and other CAD needs.
  • Apply CAD expertise in the creation and delivery of product drawings for manufacturing and customers.
  • Collaborate with Customer Experience Representatives, Manufacturing, and suppliers to define requirements.
  • Engage with manufacturing and delivery partners to discuss process flow and product issues.
  • Conduct effective verbal and graphical communications to facilitate customer understanding.
  • Identify and implement team improvements in CAD processes.
  • Provide support for the team's CAD support tools and standards.

Requirements

  • Associate of Science Degree with 1-3 years' experience in drafting or related area, or a High School Diploma with 3-5 years' experience.
  • Experience with CAD, PC, and software applications.
  • Basic 3D solid modeling CAD skills.
  • Working knowledge of a Product Data Management system.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of tools.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD software.
  • Experience with Autodesk Inventor software.
  • Knowledge of Andersen products.
