About the position

The Custom Software Engineering Manager at Accenture LLP in Bentonville, AR, is responsible for leading the design, development, and testing of custom software solutions across various system components and applications. This role requires a deep understanding of software architecture and the ability to create implementation or integration approaches for applications and components. The manager will be tasked with designing and coding applications in accordance with established programming standards and interface specifications, ensuring that all development aligns with the overall program's timing and milestones. In this position, the manager will coordinate development streams, build deployment plans, and ensure that the development schedule is in line with the overall project timeline. They will also be responsible for designing, building, assembling, and configuring application or technical architecture components based on business requirements. Collaboration with stakeholders is crucial, as the manager will work closely with them on application and component design to secure buy-in. Additionally, the role involves developing and directing software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation to ensure high-quality deliverables. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT consulting, with extensive experience in database design, development, and maintenance, as well as proficiency in various databases such as Azure SQL, Cosmos dB, and Teradata. The role also requires experience in building ETL processes, managing Apache Kafka, and utilizing DevOps and Agile methodologies. A willingness to travel domestically approximately 80% of the time is essential to meet client needs.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test custom software solutions across multiple system components or applications.
  • Create implementation or integration approach for applications and components.
  • Design and code applications in line with programming standards and interface specifications.
  • Architect development strategy for applications and components.
  • Coordinate development streams in line with overall program(s) timing and milestones.
  • Build deployment plan, including the development plan and schedule, keeping in line with overall project timeline.
  • Design, build, assemble, and configure application or technical architecture components using business requirements.
  • Team with stakeholders on application and component design to secure buy in.
  • Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Applications, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the IT consulting industry.
  • 5 years of experience in database design, development, implementation, and maintenance.
  • 5 years of experience working on various databases including Azure SQL, Cosmos dB, Teradata, db2, Big Query, and Informix.
  • 5 years of experience building ETL leveraging Informatica or similar technologies.
  • 5 years of experience in architectural and design decisions, including improvements for ongoing performance issues.
  • 3 years of experience managing Apache Kafka and creating Kafka pipelines for near real-time data processing.
  • 3 years of experience utilizing DevOps and Agile methodology.
  • 3 years of experience performing log parsing using Splunk, Grafana, Datadog, or Dynatrace.
  • 3 years of experience in project management, including creating work plans for a team and tracking issues and risks.
  • 1 year of experience managing database refresh activities using Microsoft Data Services including Azure Data Factory.
