About the position

Accenture LLP is seeking a Custom Software Engineering Manager to join our team in Bloomington, IL. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing, designing, building, testing, implementing, and maintaining multiple system components or applications. You will develop or update project plans for information technology projects, which include defining project objectives, technologies, systems, information specifications, schedules, funding, and staffing. Your role will also involve maintaining applications according to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and managing project execution to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope. As a Custom Software Engineering Manager, you will work across the Service Delivery Lifecycle to engineer solutions for new system rollouts, major and minor enhancements, and ongoing maintenance of existing applications. You will design and code applications to meet functional and technical programming standards, develop system specifications and interfaces for complex components, and identify and assess complex problems that require in-depth evaluation of variable factors. You will create solutions for implementation by your team and supervise them in gathering and interpreting user/system requirements into design specifications. Additionally, you will conduct project and issue management, which includes status reporting, issue reporting, and budget reporting for your assigned scope of work. You will make decisions that impact the team through regular consultation with senior management and adhere to the strategic direction set by senior management. Effective interaction with client or internal senior management is also a key aspect of this role.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, build, test, implement and maintain multiple system components or applications.
• Develop or update project plans for information technology projects, including project objectives, technologies, systems, information specifications, schedules, funding, and staffing.
• Maintain applications according to SLAs and manage project execution to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Applications, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the IT consulting industry.
• 3 years of experience in designing, developing, and supporting front-end web, RESTful APIs, and database components adhering to SDLC best practices.
• 3 years of experience in cloud native development and cloud technologies, including Pivotal Cloud Foundry and AWS.
• 3 years of experience utilizing DevOps and Agile methodology.
• 3 years of experience coding and deploying applications using DevOps utilizing GitHub, Jenkins, Maven, and Splunk.
• 3 years of experience developing and maintaining applications using Java Enterprise Edition, jQuery, Spring Boot, Microservices, JavaScript, and JSON.
• 3 years of experience working with databases SQL with MySQL, PostgreSQL, and IBM DB2.
• Experience in IT Change Management, Problem Management, Incident Management, and ITIL governance processes.
• Experience driving key delivery orchestration design decisions and suggesting improvements on ongoing issues.
• Experience creating technical designs for multi-tiered web applications.
• Experience managing onshore and offshore delivery teams supporting critical applications.
