About the position

The Customer Account Manager is responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of customer accounts across various transportation modes. This role focuses on building long-term relationships with customers, identifying continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring accountability to performance metrics. The manager will also work to generate profitable revenue by engaging with lapsed customers and addressing operational challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Grow volume and profitable revenue within assigned customer portfolio through relationship building and account development activities.
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews and engage lapsed customers through cold selling tactics.
  • Provide leadership and subject matter expertise on customer operations-related matters.
  • Serve as the primary point of escalation for operational issues that cannot be resolved by the customer operations team.
  • Engage face-to-face with customers through headquarter calls and on-site visits to foster collaboration and generate business opportunities.
  • Partner with internal departments to optimize service and cost for customers and the company.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3 to 5 years of work experience in a relevant field.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3-5 years of Customer Account Management/Selling experience preferred.
  • 1-3 years of Transportation/Logistics experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business, Supply Chain, or Sales Marketing is preferred.
