The Customer Care Specialist at Ashley Furniture Industries is responsible for providing exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining customer satisfaction. This role emphasizes teamwork and accountability, requiring representatives to engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming customer inquiries
  • Respond to email communications
  • Collaborate with management teams to stay updated on new products, services, and policies
  • Record customer information within our customer service database
  • Engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner while actively listening to their concerns
  • Offer support and solutions to customers in accordance with the company's customer service policies
  • Resolve problems and fulfill consumer requests
  • Maintain daily team and individual goals
  • Clarify desired information for consumer questions
  • Escalate unresolved problems
  • Research and fulfill requests by clarifying desired information
  • Complete transactions (entering tasks, complaints as needed)
  • Transfer calls as needed
  • Follow established policy & procedures
  • Keep job knowledge updated

Requirements

  • Good telephone communication skills and customer interface ability
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Use proper discretion in evaluating/elevating customer issues
  • Work as a team player and defuse difficult situations
  • PC skills (Windows) and keyboarding skills
  • Ability to take initiative and accountability in obtaining general knowledge of billing systems and order entry
  • Must be able to multi-task, access and update customer records while simultaneously interacting with the customer on the phone
  • Must be able to work flexible hours on a rotating schedule including evenings, holidays, and weekends
  • 1+ year(s) direct customer service experience
  • Flexibility concerning job functions and scheduling
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with a diverse team
  • Excellent work ethic and integrity
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and extremely organized
  • Ability to work individually with minimal supervision
