About the position

The Customer Connect / Customer Service Representative II role at The First National Bank of Bastrop is a hybrid position focused on providing exceptional customer service and support within the Customer Connect department and Headquarters New Accounts. The representative will handle a variety of customer inquiries, assist with account management, and promote bank services while ensuring compliance with regulations and bank policies.

Responsibilities

  • Answer telephone calls using a pleasant and professional voice, transferring calls as necessary.
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding account balances and general account information.
  • Assist customers with loan inquiries, including payoff requests and loan balances.
  • Provide information about bank products and services, including online and mobile banking.
  • Prepare special customer service orders such as stop-payments and address changes.
  • Maintain knowledge of all bank services to identify customer needs and make appropriate referrals.
  • Research and resolve customer inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Handle debit card requests and assist with online banking needs.
  • Cash checks and disburse funds after verifying signatures and sufficiency of funds.
  • Accept deposits and confirm transaction accuracy, following regulations.
  • Open new checking, savings, and time deposit accounts, explaining options available.
  • Assist customers with special needs and explain transaction policies as required.

Requirements

  • High school graduation or equivalent.
  • One year of new accounts or teller experience, including six months of cash handling experience.
  • Basic knowledge of ACH, debit card use, and online banking.

Nice-to-haves

  • Fluent in English and Spanish.
  • Two years of new accounts or teller experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
