About the position

The Customer Engineer for Federal Civilian Agencies at Google plays a crucial role in delivering tailored cloud solutions to government clients. This position involves engaging with technical stakeholders, presenting innovative technology solutions, and assisting customers in designing architectures that meet their specific needs. The role requires collaboration with internal teams to enhance Google Cloud products and involves travel to customer sites and events to foster relationships and support digital transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Identify business and technical requirements, conduct technical discovery, and architect client solutions to meet gathered requirements.
  • Lead technical projects, technology advocacy, support bid responses, product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and the coordination of supporting technical resources.
  • Deliver product messaging for the Google cloud platform using whiteboard and slide presentations, product demonstrations, white papers, trial management, and Request for Information (RFI) response documents.
  • Drive recommendations on integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure to implement a complete solution providing best practice advice to customers to optimize Google cloud platform effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
  • Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.
  • Experience promoting technology solutions to US Federal Civilian agencies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience developing architectures and mission solutions using API management, microservice frameworks, PaaS, and container orchestration systems, or other applicable platforms.
  • Experience with Big Data technologies or concepts: analytics warehousing, data processing, data transformation, data governance, data migrations, ETL, ELT, SQL, NoSQL, performance or scalability optimizations, or batch versus streaming.
  • Experience leveraging Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning solutions to solve customer challenges.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks, Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) or Federal Information Security Management (FISMA).
  • Ability to learn, understand, and work with emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the Google Cloud/IT technology space.
