Customer Engineer II, API and Integration, Google Cloud

About the position

As an Apigee and Application Integration Customer Engineer at Google Cloud, you will serve as a subject matter expert in application integration, partnering with technical sales teams to showcase the capabilities of Google Cloud to prospective and existing customers. Your role will involve understanding customer needs, developing creative cloud solutions, and troubleshooting technical issues, all while promoting a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Partner with technical sales teams to differentiate Google Cloud to customers.
• Assist customers in understanding the power of Google Cloud and develop creative cloud solutions.
• Engage in proofs of concepts and troubleshoot technical questions and roadblocks.
• Liaise with product marketing management and engineering teams to stay updated on industry trends.
• Evaluate processes for prospects, including technology advocacy and supporting bid responses.
• Demonstrate and prototype integrations in customer and partner environments.
• Recommend integration strategies and enterprise architectures for successful implementation on Google Cloud.
• Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
• Experience with API and application integration technologies such as API management or API security.
• Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a technical field.
• Experience with legacy and modern application development, container orchestration systems, and middleware technologies.
• Experience with integration architecture patterns, security protocols, and enterprise messaging patterns.
• Experience with cloud technologies including SaaS applications, iPaaS, and cloud infrastructure.
• Understanding of Google Cloud, multi and hybrid-cloud strategies, and associated technologies.
• Knowledge of security and understanding of API security technologies such as OAuth, mTLS, SAML, JWT, and SSO.
