About The Position

As an Apigee and Application Integration Customer Engineer at Google Cloud, you will serve as a subject matter expert in application integration, partnering with technical sales teams to differentiate Google Cloud to customers. Your role involves facilitating the adoption of Google Cloud products by assisting customers in understanding their business and technical requirements, developing creative cloud solutions, and troubleshooting technical issues. You will engage with both prospective and existing customers, leveraging your expertise to present practical solutions and optimize results in production environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
  • Experience with API and application integration technologies such as API management or API security.
  • Experience engaging with and presenting to technical stakeholders and executive leaders.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a technical field.
  • Experience with legacy and modern application development and container orchestration systems.
  • Experience with integration architecture patterns, security protocols, and enterprise messaging patterns.
  • Experience with cloud technologies including SaaS applications and cloud infrastructure.
  • Understanding of Google Cloud and multi/hybrid-cloud strategies.
  • Knowledge of API security technologies such as OAuth, mTLS, SAML, JWT, and SSO.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with technical sales teams as a subject matter expert in application integration.
  • Assist customers in understanding their business and technical requirements.
  • Develop creative cloud solutions and architectures to solve business challenges.
  • Engage in proofs of concepts and troubleshoot technical questions and roadblocks.
  • Liaise with product marketing management and engineering teams to stay updated on industry trends.
  • Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities and resolve technical blockers.
  • Share in-depth subject matter expertise on API management and application modernization areas.
  • Evaluate processes for prospects, including technology advocacy and product briefings.
  • Demonstrate and prototype integrations in customer and partner environments.
  • Recommend integration strategies and enterprise architectures for successful implementation.
