About the position

The Customer Engineer II, API and Integration role at Google Cloud involves partnering with technical sales teams to provide subject matter expertise in application integration. This position focuses on helping customers understand the capabilities of Google Cloud, developing creative solutions to their business challenges, and troubleshooting technical issues. The role requires strong communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to engage with technical stakeholders and executive leaders.

Responsibilities

• Identify and qualify business opportunities and develop strategies to resolve technical blockers.
• Provide subject matter expertise on API management, application integration, and application modernization to support customer relationships.
• Evaluate processes for prospects, including technology advocacy and supporting bid responses.
• Demonstrate and prototype integrations using Google Cloud products in customer environments.
• Recommend integration strategies and enterprise architectures for successful implementation on Google Cloud.
• Travel to customer sites and events as a public advocate for Google Cloud.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
• Experience with API and application integration technologies such as API management or API security.
• Experience engaging with technical stakeholders and executive leaders.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience with legacy and modern application development and container orchestration systems.
• Experience with integration architecture patterns, security protocols, and enterprise messaging patterns.
• Understanding of Google Cloud and multi/hybrid-cloud strategies.
