About the position

As a Customer Engineer III in Data Analytics for Google Public Sector, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating the adoption of Google Cloud products among educational institutions, government agencies, and other businesses. Your primary responsibility will be to engage with prospective and existing customers, helping them understand the capabilities of Google Cloud and how it can enhance their operations. You will act as a subject matter expert in data analytics, working closely with technical sales teams to differentiate Google Cloud offerings and develop tailored solutions that address specific business challenges. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting technical discovery sessions to gather business and technical requirements from customers. You will then architect solutions that meet these requirements, leveraging your expertise in cloud native architecture and Big Data technologies. Your ability to present complex technical concepts in a clear and persuasive manner will be crucial as you prepare and deliver sales messaging, including product demonstrations, white papers, and responses to requests for information (RFIs). You will also collaborate with product management and engineering teams to stay informed about industry trends and product enhancements, ensuring that you can provide the most relevant and effective solutions to customers. Your work will involve troubleshooting technical issues related to database migrations and the data lifecycle, as well as engaging in proofs of concept to demonstrate the value of Google Cloud solutions. Responsibilities

  • Partner with technical sales teams as a data analytics subject matter expert.
  • Engage with customers to understand their business and technical requirements.
  • Architect client solutions to meet gathered requirements.
  • Prepare and deliver sales messaging highlighting the Google Cloud value proposition.
  • Conduct full technical discovery and identify business and technical requirements.
  • Demonstrate and prototype integrations in customer and partner environments.
  • Support the technical relationship with customers, including technology advocacy and product briefings.
  • Assist in problem-solving key technical issues for customers.
  • Liaise with product management to prioritize solutions impacting customer adoption.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
  • Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.
  • Experience with Python libraries and frameworks.
  • Experience with Big Data technologies or concepts, such as analytics warehousing, data processing, data transformation, data governance, data migrations, ETL, ELT, SQL, NoSQL, performance or scalability optimizations, or batch versus streaming.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in technical sales or consulting in cloud computing, data analytics, or Big Data.
  • Experience with architecture design, implementing, tuning, schema design, and query optimization of scalable and distributed systems.
  • Experience developing data warehousing, data lakes, batch/real-time event processing, streaming, data processing (ETL/ELT), data migrations, data visualization tools, and data governance on cloud native architectures.
  • Experience with, or supporting State, Local, and Education customers.
  • Understanding of customer requirements and ability to break down requirements and design technical architectures.
