About the position

As a High Performance Computing (HPC) Customer Engineer at Google Cloud, you will serve as a subject-matter expert in HPC, partnering with technical sales teams to showcase the capabilities of Google Cloud to prospective and existing customers. Your role will involve understanding customer business and technical requirements, developing tailored cloud solutions, and addressing technical challenges. You will also engage with various stakeholders, including technical leaders and executives, to facilitate the adoption of Google Cloud products and drive digital transformation in organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with technical sales teams as a subject-matter expert in High Performance Computing (HPC).
  • Engage with customers to understand their business and technical requirements.
  • Develop creative cloud solutions and architectures to solve business challenges.
  • Assist in proofs of concepts and troubleshoot technical questions and roadblocks.
  • Identify and qualify business opportunities and develop strategies to resolve technical blockers.
  • Recommend and document migration paths, integration strategies, and enterprise architectures.
  • Lead workshops for strategic customers to assess existing application/infrastructure environments.
  • Develop architectural blueprints for infrastructure and HPC migration opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
  • Experience with High Performance Computing, implementing shared file systems, batch scheduling, and workload management.
  • Experience engaging with and presenting to technical stakeholders and executive leaders.
  • Experience in the BioTech industry.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience as an IT infrastructure consultant or enterprise architect in data center transformation strategies.
  • Experience architecting and developing software or infrastructure for scalable, high-performance, distributed systems.
  • Experience within the Life-Sciences market with knowledge in Biotech workloads such as Genomics Processing, Drug Discovery, Cryo-EM, and Molecular Dynamics.
  • Experience with cloud or on-premises infrastructure engineering.
  • Understanding of systems management concepts such as image management, patching, automated deployment.
