About the position

As a Customer Engineer III specializing in High Performance Computing (HPC) at Google Cloud, you will play a crucial role in facilitating the adoption of cloud solutions for customers in the BioTech industry. Your expertise will help prospective and existing clients understand the capabilities of Google Cloud, develop tailored solutions, and address technical challenges. You will collaborate with sales teams, engage with technical stakeholders, and lead workshops to assess customer needs and readiness for cloud transformation.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with technical sales teams as a subject-matter-expert in HPC.
  • Help customers understand the power of Google Cloud and develop creative cloud solutions.
  • Engage in proofs of concepts and troubleshoot technical questions.
  • Identify and qualify business opportunities and develop strategies to resolve technical blockers.
  • Recommend and document migration paths and integration strategies for Google Cloud solutions.
  • Assist Infrastructure Solutions Management teams with solution and use case assets.
  • Lead workshops for strategic customers to assess existing environments and readiness for cloud computing.
  • Develop architectural blueprints for infrastructure and HPC migration opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
  • Experience with High Performance Computing, implementing shared file systems, batch scheduling, and workload management.
  • Experience engaging with and presenting to technical stakeholders and executive leaders.
  • Experience in the BioTech industry.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience as an IT infrastructure consultant or enterprise architect in data center transformation strategies.
  • Experience architecting and developing software or infrastructure for scalable, high-performance, distributed systems.
  • Experience within the Life-Sciences market with knowledge in Biotech workloads such as Genomics Processing and Drug Discovery.
  • Experience with cloud or on-premises infrastructure engineering.
  • Understanding of systems management concepts such as image management and automated deployment.
