About the position

The Google Cloud Platform team is dedicated to helping customers transform and build what's next for their business using technology built in the cloud. Our products are designed for security, reliability, and scalability, running the full stack from infrastructure to applications to devices and hardware. As a Customer Engineer in the Telecommunication, Media, and Gaming Vertical, you will play a crucial role in partnering with technical Sales teams to differentiate Google Cloud to customers. This position involves engaging with prospective and existing customers and partners to help them understand the power of Google Cloud, develop creative cloud solutions and architectures to solve business challenges, and troubleshoot any technical questions and roadblocks that may arise. In this role, you will work closely with customers to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand key technical objections, and develop strategies to resolve any technical blockers. You will share your knowledge of enterprise infrastructure modernization to support the technical relationship with customers, which includes technology advocacy, supporting bid responses, product and solution briefings, and proof-of-concept work. Additionally, you will partner with product management to prioritize solutions that impact customer adoption of Google Cloud. Your responsibilities will also include guiding customers through assessments of their existing legacy application environments and providing recommendations on a prioritization roadmap for infrastructure and application modernization. You will recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure to successfully implement complete solutions on Google Cloud. This role is essential in helping customers leverage Google's cutting-edge technology to digitally transform their businesses and industries, ultimately enabling growth and solving critical business problems.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with technical Sales teams to differentiate Google Cloud to customers.
  • Help prospective and existing customers and partners understand the power of Google Cloud.
  • Develop creative cloud solutions and architectures to solve business challenges.
  • Engage in proofs of concepts and troubleshoot technical questions and roadblocks.
  • Identify and qualify business opportunities and understand key customer technical objections.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
  • Experience engaging with and presenting to technical stakeholders and executive leaders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with cloud or on-premises infrastructure engineering.
  • Experience in migrating applications and services to cloud platforms.
  • Experience with security concepts such as encryption, identity management, access control, attack vectors, and penetration testing.
  • Experience with networking concepts such as software-defined networking, routing, virtual private networks, load balancers, and firewalls.
  • Experience with virtualization or containerization platforms.
