About the position

As a Customer Engineer at Google Cloud, you will serve as a Security and Compliance subject matter expert, partnering with technical sales teams to differentiate Google Cloud offerings to customers. Your role involves facilitating the adoption of Google Cloud products by addressing customer needs, resolving technical issues, and collaborating with internal teams to enhance product offerings. You will engage with customers to understand their business challenges and present tailored cloud solutions, leveraging your expertise in cloud security and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and qualify business opportunities and understand key customer technical objections.
  • Develop strategies to resolve technical security and compliance blockers.
  • Share expertise in security, privacy, and regulatory compliance to support customer relationships.
  • Support bid responses, product briefings, and proof-of-concept work.
  • Collaborate with product management to prioritize solutions that impact customer adoption of Google Cloud.
  • Demonstrate and prototype integrations of Google Cloud products in customer environments.
  • Contribute to security, privacy, and compliance programs with internal teams.
  • Deliver internal enablement to create customer best practices.
  • Travel to customer sites, conferences, and related events as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience with cloud native architecture and cybersecurity in a customer-facing or support role.
  • Experience with Cloud Identity and Access Management, Network Security, Data Security, and Regulatory Compliance frameworks.
  • Experience creating Security Architectures.
  • Experience in the financial services industry.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications such as CISSP or CCSP.
  • Experience architecting and implementing security concepts in the cloud, including IAM, IdP, identity lifecycle management, firewalls, zero trust, secrets management, disaster recovery, SecOps, DLP, or encryption.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, FedRAMP, PCI, and HIPAA.
  • Experience with multiple Cloud providers or multi-cloud solutions.
  • Experience in prospecting and building customer relationships.
