About the position
The Customer Experience Associate plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service at the Exchange. This position involves assisting customers with their shopping experience, handling transactions, and addressing inquiries and complaints. The associate is expected to create a welcoming environment, engage with customers, and ensure a smooth process for refunds and exchanges. The role emphasizes multitasking and effective communication to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Responsibilities
- Greet every customer with eye contact and a smile.
- Acknowledge every waiting customer promptly.
- Complete transactions accurately and efficiently while engaging customers in conversation.
- Assist customers with returning/exchanging merchandise gracefully and apologizing for any inconvenience.
- Provide product knowledge and assist with price changes, special orders, and online orders.
- Promote the benefits of the Military Star credit card and other corporate programs to drive sales growth.
- Operate a cash register and handle transactions with accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and security regulations.
Requirements
- Completion of high school or equivalent education.
- Retail experience preferred.
- Cash handling experience preferred.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Basic computer skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Willingness to cross-train and work in other areas of the store.
- Ability to stay calm when customers are stressed or upset.
- Ability to think quickly to answer customer questions.
