About the position

As a Customer Experience Banker at our Battle Creek, MI branch, you will be part of a welcoming and inclusive team environment where you are empowered every day to help our customers achieve their financial goals. This role is designed for individuals who are passionate about providing exceptional customer service and building strong relationships with clients. You will act as a Financial Concierge for our walk-in customers, responsible for retaining and growing consumer and business customer relationships by proactively identifying their financial goals and needs. Your recommendations for appropriate deposit and other banking products and services will play a crucial role in enhancing customer satisfaction and loyalty. In this position, you will process customer transactions accurately and efficiently while balancing daily operations. Your exemplary customer service skills will be essential in resolving customer issues effectively. You will also be expected to demonstrate proficiency in understanding and educating customers on various consumer deposit products. By proactively identifying opportunities to grow customer relationships through a disciplined sales process, you will engage in new customer follow-up programs, outbound calling, and sourcing referrals from customers and partners. Additionally, you will educate and refer customers to other areas of the bank to deepen relationships and build strong partnerships. Adhering to all operational, security, risk, and regulatory policies and procedures is a critical aspect of this role. You will need to demonstrate acumen in sales, customer service, relationship management, banking, communication, and presentation skills. Other duties may be assigned as necessary to support the branch's objectives and customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Providing excellent customer service and effectively resolving customer issues.
  • Being proficient in understanding and educating customers on consumer deposit products.
  • Proactively identifying opportunities to grow customer relationships through a disciplined sales process, new customer follow-up program, outbound calling, and sourcing referrals from customers and partners.
  • Educating and referring customers to other areas of the bank to deepen relationships and build a strong partnership.
  • Adhering to all operational, security, risk and regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrating acumen in sales, customer service, relationship management, banking, communication and presentation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED and minimum of 1 year customer service or military service in an administration, contracting, civil affairs, or similar role or a Bachelor's Degree.
  • 1 year or more in customer service in banking, financial services or goal driven retail sales (preferred).
  • Cash handling skills (preferred).
  • Comfort with technology such as mobile services and online banking services (preferred).
