About the position

As a Customer Experience Banker at our Campus Plaza branch in Traverse City, MI, you will be part of a welcoming and inclusive team environment where your contributions are valued and encouraged. This role empowers you to assist our customers in achieving their financial goals by acting as a Financial Concierge for walk-in customers. You will be responsible for building and maintaining strong consumer and business customer relationships by proactively identifying their financial needs and recommending suitable banking products and services. Your role will involve processing customer transactions accurately and efficiently while ensuring that you provide exemplary customer service at all times. In this position, you will engage with customers to provide excellent service and resolve any issues they may encounter. You will need to be proficient in understanding and educating customers about our consumer deposit products. A key aspect of your role will be to identify opportunities to grow customer relationships through a disciplined sales process, which includes following up with new customers, making outbound calls, and sourcing referrals from existing customers and partners. You will also be responsible for educating customers and referring them to other areas of the bank to deepen their relationships and build a strong partnership with us. Adhering to all operational, security, risk, and regulatory policies and procedures is crucial in this role. You will demonstrate your skills in sales, customer service, relationship management, banking, communication, and presentation. Other duties may be assigned as needed to support the branch's operations and customer service goals.

Responsibilities

  • Providing excellent customer service and effectively resolving customer issues.
  • Being proficient in understanding and educating customers on consumer deposit products.
  • Proactively identifying opportunities to grow customer relationships through a disciplined sales process, new customer follow-up program, outbound calling, and sourcing referrals from customers and partners.
  • Educating and referring customers to other areas of the bank to deepen relationships and build a strong partnership.
  • Adhering to all operational, security, risk and regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrating acumen in sales, customer service, relationship management, banking, communication and presentation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED and minimum of 1 year customer service or military service in an administration, contracting, civil affairs, or similar role or a Bachelor's Degree.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1 year or more in customer service in banking, financial services or goal driven retail sales.
  • Cash handling skills.
  • Comfort with technology such as mobile services and online banking services.
