About the position

As a Customer Experience Banker at our Des Plaines branch, you will be part of a welcoming and inclusive team environment where you are empowered every day to help our customers achieve their financial goals. This role is designed for individuals who are passionate about providing exceptional customer service and building lasting relationships with clients. You will act as a Financial Concierge for our walk-in customers, responsible for retaining and growing consumer and business customer relationships. Your primary focus will be on proactively identifying financial goals and needs, and recommending appropriate deposit, loan, and other banking products and services to meet those needs. In this position, you will process customer transactions accurately and efficiently, ensuring that each interaction is a positive experience. You will also educate customers on our bank's products, services, and technology, helping them to make informed decisions about their financial options. Your ability to understand and communicate the benefits of our offerings will be crucial in enhancing customer satisfaction and loyalty. The role requires a disciplined sales approach, where you will identify opportunities to grow customer relationships through follow-up programs, outbound calling, and sourcing referrals from existing customers and partners. You will also be responsible for adhering to all operational, security, risk, and regulatory policies and procedures, ensuring that our banking practices are compliant and secure. Your success in this role will be measured by your ability to demonstrate acumen in sales, customer service, relationship management, and effective communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Providing excellent customer service and effectively resolving customer issues.
  • Being proficient in understanding and educating customers on consumer deposit products and consumer lending.
  • Proactively identifying opportunities to grow customer relationships through a disciplined sales process, new customer follow-up program, outbound calling, and sourcing referrals from customers and partners.
  • Educating and referring customers to other areas of the bank to deepen relationships and build a strong partnership.
  • Adhering to all operational, security, risk and regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrating acumen in sales, customer service, relationship management, banking, consumer lending, business banking, business lending, communication and presentation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED and minimum of 1 year customer service or military service in an administration, contracting, civil affairs, or similar role or a Bachelor's Degree.
  • 1 year or more in customer service in banking, financial services or goal driven retail sales (preferred).
  • Cash handling skills (preferred).
  • Comfort with technology such as mobile services and online banking services (preferred).
