About the position

The Customer Experience Designer is a pivotal role within the eCommerce team, responsible for creating user-centered designs for various digital platforms including web and mobile applications. This position emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams and requires a strong focus on understanding customer needs through research and analytics. The designer will also mentor other UX resources and lead projects to enhance user experiences across digital touchpoints.

Responsibilities

  • Develop user-centered designs for web, mobile web, and mobile applications.
  • Collaborate with creative designers, business stakeholders, and development teams.
  • Mentor and coach other UXA resources as needed.
  • Act as the voice of the customer, utilizing insights from research and analytics.
  • Translate business requirements and user needs into compelling user experiences.
  • Facilitate brainstorming sessions and workshops to gather UX insights.
  • Identify research needs and work with the customer research team.
  • Analyze research findings to refine design strategies.
  • Conduct competitive analyses and heuristic evaluations.
  • Assess usability and suggest enhancements for new and existing features.
  • Collaborate with UX, creative, and development teams to develop user experience solutions.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of web and app UX best practices.
  • Produce user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and documentation for design concepts.
  • Engage in design reviews with stakeholders for feedback.
  • Interact comfortably with executives and senior leadership.
  • Resolve problems independently as they arise.
  • Manage multiple projects of varying complexity, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Lead projects without significant oversight and mentor other UXA resources.

Requirements

  • Experience in user experience design for web and mobile applications.
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Ability to analyze user research and translate findings into design solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in conducting usability testing and heuristic evaluations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with eCommerce platforms and best practices.
  • Experience in mentoring junior designers or UXA resources.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and guidelines.
