About the position

The Customer Experience Representative is responsible for providing excellent customer service by operating the cash terminal, processing payments, and handling customer inquiries. This part-time role involves maintaining the cleanliness of the cash register area and ensuring security by detecting signs of theft or shoplifting.

Responsibilities

  • Operate cash terminal and verify purchase price.
  • Process customer payments.
  • Handle customer inquiries.
  • Clean and maintain assigned cash register and counter using basic cleaning supplies.
  • Detect common signs of shoplifting, theft, and other security risks involving customers and co-workers and communicate potential problems to store management or security.

Requirements

  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school.
  • Prior retail experience is preferred.
  • Ability to read English sufficiently to read customer checks and identification.
  • Basic math skills, including addition and subtraction, necessary to verify cash register functions and make change.
  • Ability to grasp and lift or otherwise move goods weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and/or sit continuously for six to eight hour shifts.
