About the position

The Manager Customer Logistics will oversee the day-to-day operations within an assigned function, ensuring that all aspects of Operations and Account Management are effectively managed. This role is pivotal in leading direct reports and achieving daily operational goals within the designated functional area. The Manager will be responsible for customer service satisfaction and expectation management, ensuring that the needs of customers are met and exceeded. This includes managing staffing performance, developing both exempt and non-exempt employees, and overseeing the planning and scheduling of daily operations. Health and Safety Management is also a critical component of this role, ensuring compliance with State, Local, and Federal regulations. In addition to the essential functions, the Manager will perform other duties as assigned, which may vary based on the operational needs of the organization. The role requires a high level of analytical ability to address unusual and difficult problems, as well as the capability to make timely decisions in critical situations. The Manager will provide off-shift support in the event of a customer network disruption or crisis, demonstrating a commitment to maintaining operational continuity. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential, as the Manager will need to create and maintain professional relationships across all levels of the organization, including peers, work groups, customers, and supervisors. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is crucial, along with the flexibility to excel in a fast-paced environment. The Manager must be highly organized, capable of multi-tasking, and possess excellent time management skills, with a keen attention to detail and follow-up practices. Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access, is required, along with advanced knowledge of the logistics industry and an understanding of customer and company regulations.

Requirements

  • H.S. diploma/GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain preferred.
  • Two (2) years or more relevant experience in supply chain, logistics, warehouse or industry related field required.
  • One (1) year or more direct supervisory/leadership experience required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access) is required, advanced level required.
  • Advanced logistics industry knowledge required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Customer/Company local and Federal regulations required, advanced level.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Supply Chain Management components required.
  • Strong knowledge of Manufacturing and Production required, advanced level.
